Abstract

Response to an invitation by the EPA to participate in a further proposal the EPA air quality policy to alter the regulation of industrial stack emissions. The EPA should adopt a transparent approach to setting ground level concentrations. Support the use of ground level concentrations but note that numerical modelling has limitations in some circumstances. EPA identified the models used by Adelaide Brighton Cement were unsuited to coastal areas - stack regulation using ground level concentrations in these circumstances should be confirmed by measurement.
